Shelton, Connecticut

Rachel & Freddy got married in Aruba, back in May! From their accounts, everyone enjoyed a wonderful time watching the beachside nuptials.
Soooooooooooo, where do I come in you wonder??
Well, Rachel had stumbled onto my website and asked me to come out to shoot their reception a month later at Rachel’s childhood home, deep in the suburbs of Shelton, Connecticut.
On a warm sunny Saturday afternoon, I pulled up to her parents’ house and spent a fun afternoon shooting their reception party! And maybe they’re onto something…no stress, no worries about a wedding timeline, no need to follow any rules – the party was exactly that! It was a PARTY and it was clear that everyone was happy to celebrate and let loose!
Attended by a huge gathering of friends and family members, the sangria poured freely and several food trucks rolled in to serve guests a large collection of foods including deluxe pizzas, gourmet BBQ, and Mexican fare all night long! Whether you wanted ribs or a taco, homemade mac and cheese or quesadillas, Rachel & Freddy made sure that their guests had a huge spread of food that helped keep tummies full and guests happy!
The best part of this fun filled evening?
Being there to witness it all! Watching Rachel & Freddy interact with each other, laugh, and enjoy themselves. Watching family members as they hugged the couple and wished them well. Seeing Harold, Rachel’s father, as he held tightly onto his daughter for their parent dance and being able to capture Debbie, Rachel’s mother, with an emotional smile and love in her eyes!
While this was not the traditional wedding I shoot, it was special nonetheless and I’m humbled that Rachel & Freddy chose me to be the one to capture it all for them!
