Long Dock Park, Beacon, NY
Josh has the looks of a male model. He’s tall, classically handsome, and athletic. And at 18, he has a promising future ahead of him with plans to head off to college and continue playing soccer while completing his degree.
‘He loves soccer,’ his mother had told me several times. And because of that, I chose this specific location to showcase his passion for the sport. But there’s more to him too. Josh also plays guitar. He’s passionate about his jeep and has lots of fond memories for it. Overall, Josh has a head on his shoulders and his mother is clearly proud of her oldest child.
Josh is shooting his senior session, and throughout the planning process, I’ve spent time coordinating his looks and session with his mother. I’ve explained that the senior experience (as I fondly call it) is a reflection of each individual. It’s more than just taking pretty pictures. The senior experience is about capturing your child and incorporating the things that they love into their pictures.
Typically, my senior guys are a little hesitant when shooting. But Josh makes it look easy and effortless. We spend the next two hours utilizing the beach while incorporating his love of soccer, guitar, and his jeep to give him a complete collection that embodies who he is!
At the end of the day, Josh and his family walked away with an amazing collection (that even included some shots of him and his mother!) that showcased him at this poignant time in his life! And for me, senior sessions are another niche I love shooting when I’m not capturing a couple’s wedding!
