1. When should I schedule my senior photography session?

Most seniors schedule their session during the spring, summer, or early fall before graduation. Summer offers beautiful greenery and warm golden light, while fall brings rich color to the Hudson Valley. Booking early will give you the best selection of available dates—especially if you need your photos for a yearbook deadline.

2. Where do senior photography sessions take place?

Senior sessions can take place throughout the Hudson Valley and surrounding areas. Together, we can choose a location that complements your personality and style, whether that means an open field, a charming downtown setting, a garden, a waterfront location, or somewhere personally meaningful to you.

3. How do we choose a location?

Once your session is booked, I’ll help you select a location based on the look and feeling you want for your photos. You’re also welcome to suggest a favorite place, such as your hometown, school, family property, or another location that feels special to you.

4. What should I wear for my senior portraits?

Choose clothing that makes you feel comfortable, confident, and like yourself. Simple, well-fitting outfits generally photograph best. Depending on your session, you may be able to bring more than one outfit so we can create a variety of looks.

5. Can I bring more than one outfit?

Yes! Outfit changes are a wonderful way to add variety to your senior gallery. Many seniors choose one dressier outfit and one more relaxed look. The number of outfits will depend on the session collection you select.

6. Can I include sports equipment, an instrument, or another meaningful item?

Absolutely. Your senior portraits should tell your story. You are welcome to bring a musical instrument, sports gear, dance shoes, books, your graduation cap and gown, or another item that represents an important part of your high school experience.

7. Can a parent come to the session?

Of course. Parents are always welcome to attend. They can help with outfit changes, hair checks, and anything else you may need throughout the session. Their encouragement can also help you feel more relaxed in front of the camera.

8. What if I feel awkward in front of the camera?

You don’t need to know how to pose! I’ll guide you through the entire session with natural prompts and simple direction. My goal is to help you feel comfortable and create photographs that look genuine, relaxed, and flattering.

9. What happens if it rains?

Ever client is given two dates with one serving as a rain back up. The weather can change quickly in the Hudson Valley, so I keep a close eye on the forecast before every outdoor session. If the weather will prevent us from creating beautiful photographs, we’ll shift to the back up date.

10. Do you retouch senior portraits?

Yes. Every final photograph is professionally edited in my signature style. This includes adjustments to color, lighting, and overall polish, along with natural retouching when appropriate. You will still look like yourself—just beautifully photographed.

11. When will we receive the photographs?

Your final images will be delivered through a private online gallery. Your specific turnaround time is typically 3 weeks.

12. Can we order prints and albums?

Yes. Professional prints and keepsake products are available so your favorite senior portraits can be enjoyed beyond a phone or computer screen. These photographs are an important part of your family’s story and deserve to be preserved.

13. Do you photograph seniors throughout the Hudson Valley?

Yes! I offer senior photography throughout the Hudson Valley and surrounding areas, including Orange County, Ulster County, Dutchess County, and nearby communities.

14. How do I book a senior photography session?

Simply complete the contact form with your preferred timeframe and any ideas you have. We can connect and if ready to book, you will be asked to sign a basic contract and secure your session with a retainer. All invoiced are due by day of shoot.
