A Rainy Day For a City Winery Wedding | Hudson Valley

Montgomery | NY

I won’t lie, I always enjoy shooting City Winery weddings. There’s a magic to the place that makes every wedding memorable. A steady drizzle decided to grace Kristen & Dan’s wedding day. For some, this may ‘dampen’ their spirit (see what I did there?!). But for Kristen & Dan, it didn’t stop them from having an amazing wedding day at City Winery. Or from enjoying it exactly as they should!

If you’ve ever been to City Winery, then you will understand that it’s quite large! The grounds are expansive, the venue itself has varying levels and spots. There are lots of different nooks and crannies, and having rain on a wedding day is far from a disaster! In fact, it’s the opposite! The dark skies and drizzle added a warm glow to everything and often, it felt like it was more of an intimate wedding than the large party it ended up being!

Along with a supportive group of friends and family, these two couldn’t have asked for a better day! We easily pivoted and utilized the venue to accommodate the bridal party and families. From a sweet first look outside the barn, to portraits in and around the City Winery property, to a romantic wedding ceremony indoors, it was perfect!

And the reception?? Lively wouldn’t do it justice. Kristen & Dan threw a party that no one will forget! From lively Assyrian dancing, to a band that delivered, being able to capture this wedding was a memorable experience!

BEHIND THE LENS

MEET Summer

Photographer, artist, mother, outdoor lover, inspired by movement & motion, good light, and you.

I 'm a wife and mother. I love lazy Saturday mornings with a cup of coffee. I prefer nights on the couch with my family but also enjoy craft beers and apps in a swanky bar. I love being outdoors and I'm eternally grateful I get to experience all four seasons! I dig personal touches & homemade items over commercial goods. Admittedly, I also love shopping on Amazon Prime.

When I'm not in the Hudson Valley, you can find me enjoying time up in the Adirondacks at my second home. I find myself drawn to nature and the world we live in and often let it act as my muse when shooting.
